Constanza, although one of our earlier model yachts she is excellent value and a favorite in our fleet, particularly for regatta charter due to her speed. The Beneteau 46.1 was designed by Bruce Far and lives well up to the class of cruiser/racer. That’s not to say she lacks anything in terms of comfort, she’s big spacious and surprisingly easy to handle, perfect for two families or four couples who really enjoy the sailing part of cruising.
This being Beneteau’s charter version yacht she has four double cabins. The forward V berth is split in to two cabins making them comfortable though slightly smaller than the full size aft cabins.
There are two generous heads with showers, one servicing the two forward cabins and one servicing the two aft cabins. The salon table easily seats eight people, there remains plenty of room to walk through, and headroom is ample throughout.
The galley is equipped with a gimbaled combination hob and oven, twin wash sinks and a large top loading refrigerator with over half a cubic meter of chilled space. Cupboard space is plentiful even with all of the galley gear safely stowed there remains plenty of space to stow provisions within easy reach.
The cockpit is generously proportioned and maximizes the seating both forward of the pedestal and aft. The helms seat lifts out and can be stowed in the adjoining locker easily providing a flat walkway through to the transom.
The mast head sloop rig is substantial with a fully battened Main and roller furling Genoa new (2009) and sailing speeds of 7 knots are relatively easy to achieve. All lines are lead back to the cockpit making handling is safe and easy.
Anchoring is made easy with a full 50m chain rode with 20kg Bruce anchor and large chain windlass operated from the bow. The tender is towed and has sufficient space for 6 adults for short journeys and is powered with a 5hp outboard engine.
