General overview...

The first of the high freeboard, broad beam yachts produced by Jeanneau, with a sporty modern look with lots of spacious comfort. This is a great charter yacht for two families or six adults; she is fast and easy to handle even for short-handed crews.

Accommodations

This being Jeanneau’s charter version yacht she has three double cabins with a removable wall in the forward V berth that allows for either a separate double child bunk cabin or the walls can be removed to create one big cabin with a large comfortable settee.

The forward cabin has a spacious adjoining head and the aft cabins share a larger head that is open to the salon. The salon table easily seats six people and there remains plenty of room to walk through and head room abundant.

Galley

The galley is equipped with a gimbaled combination hob and oven, twin wash sinks and a large top loading refrigerator with over half a cubic meter of chilled space. Cupboard space is plentiful even with all of the galley gear safely stowed there remains plenty of space to stow provisions within easy reach and the U shaped format of the cabinetry provides for excellent support for cooking even underway in a sizable sea.

Cockpit

This was one of the first smaller Jeanneau yachts produced with twin wheels and the idea was such a winner that Jeanneau has never looked back. The twin wheel concept provides the helmsman a better vantage point to view sail trim and to see forward over the bow and provides a single level passage way from the companionway all the way through to the transom. The seating area provides ample space for six adults to sit forward of the wheel and additional space at the vacant steering station and the bimini is large enough to cover the entire area.

Rig and handling

The mast head sloop rig is substantial with a new (2010) fully battened main and roller furling genoa and sailing speeds of 7 knots are relatively easy to achieve. All lines are lead back to the cockpit so handling is safe and easy. Two experienced adults can handle this yacht and the autopilot makes that a relatively easy task. Anchoring is made easy with a full 50m chain rode with 20kg bruce anchor and large chain windlass operated from the bow. The tender is towed and has sufficient space for 6 adults for short journeys and is powered with a 5hp outboard engine.
