The Catalina 34 has established an enviable reputation as a fast, stiff, and sturdily built cruising yacht. A great light-air performer with commodious accommodations for cruisers, the C34 is designed for coastal cruising--but that hasn't stopped several C34s from crossing oceans.

Like the Catalina 30, the to really get a feel for just how popular these yachts are you need to visit the Catalina 34 Boat Owners Association, boasting thousands of subscribers and full of interesting information, history and stories (see link below).

This particular Catalina 34 is the MkI model and first hit the water in 1987 and brought joy to two different owners up until 2010, at which point she was shipped to Thailand.

Gulf Charters Thailand is the sole agent for Catalina Yachts in Thailand. In order to fill a void in the availability of pre-owned yachts we sent a team across to the USA to seek out yachts of this size to import and offer for sale in Thailand. This is the third of such yachts and she is in great condition, sure she is not new, but she has the character of a classic with her wooden interior and her new owner has is spent the time and money to fit her with all the modern comforts.

All in all the yacht sails well, is very comfortable and perfect for a family holiday on the water for a week or two and great value for money.

Accommodations

The forward cabin has a large V berth with standing changing area cloths cupboard and has a closing door for privacy.

>The Aft cabin is just as spacious with closing door, stand-up changing area and plenty of cupboard space to store your belongings.

The head and shower room is remarkable large, larger than most yachts in our fleet with separate shower and toilet area, hot and cold water, wash basin and electric shower drain pump.

Galley

The galley is equipped with a gambled combination hob and oven, twin wash sinks and a modern electric front loading refrigerator with and separate top loading ice box.

Cupboard space is plentiful even with all of the galley gear safely stowed there remains plenty of space to stow provisions within easy reach and the U shaped format of the cabinetry provides for excellent support for cooking even underway in a sizable sea.

Cockpit

The Catalina 34 cockpit will amaze you, it is larger than most 40ft yachts, it easily seats six people and if you prone to sleeping outside under the starts you’ll love the cockpit cushions and there’s enough space to stretch out.

The Catalina 34 is full of surprises, the fractional rig and 135 furling Genoa delivers heaps of power and even in light winds she glides along effortlessly.

Rig and handling

The Anchor system is been modified from standard to include a large chain anchor and electric anchor windlass making anchoring a simple task.

The tender is towed and has sufficient space for 4 adults for short journeys and is powered with a 5hp outboard engine.
